What to know about the Rome City Pass:

What’s included? 

Roma Pass 72 Hours includes museums and archaeological sites located in the area of the City of Rome and the public transport within the Rome railway ring (zone A).

Roma Pass 72 Hours is valid for 72 hours from the moment of its first use (not from the moment of purchase) and allows free entry to the first 2 museums and/or archaeological sites of your choice.

Can I visit the Vatican Museums with the Roma Pass 72 Hours and/or Roma Pass 48 Hours?

No. The Vatican Museums (including the Sistine Chapel) are not part of the Roma Pass network of Museums.

Where can I use for transport?

Roma Pass 72 Hours includes public transport within the City of Rome for 72 hours.

 It’s valid on the ATAC public transport network for 72 hours from the moment of its activation.

ATAC public transport network includes: trams, buses, metro A, B, B1 and C and railway lines Roma-Lido, Roma Flaminio Piazza del Popolo-Viterbo, Roma-Giardinetti), within the territory of the Municipality of Rome.

However, the Roma Pass 72 Hours/48 Hours CANNOT BE USED ACROSS THE URBAN RAILWAYS

How can I check the P.Stop network that can be used freely with the Roma Pass?

With the Roma Pass you have unlimited free access to toilets of the network

How to use the Rome City Pass?:

Once withdrawn, when will I activate the Roma Pass (72/48 hours) and how to use it?

The Roma Pass, once collected, it is valid for 6 months.

The Card will be activated at the time of the first entry to the museum/site and/or the first journey on public transport.

The Card must be validated on the first journey on public transport even if it has been already activated at the first entrance to a museum.

With Roma Pass 72 Hours, do the first two free entries have to be consecutive?

Yes, the first two entries to museums and/or sites with the Roma Pass 72 hours have to be used consecutively.

With Roma Pass, 48 Hours does the free entry have to be the first admission at museums and/or sites?

Yes. Only the first admission is free of charge, except for the museums always free within the validity period of the card.

Which museums are always free?

NOTE: Admission is always free to the following museums:

1. Accademia Nazionale di San Luca, 
2. Museo Carlo Bilotti a Villa Borghese, 
3. Museo della Repubblica Romana e della memoria garibaldina, 
4. Museo delle Mura, Museo di Casal de’ Pazzi, 
5. Museo di Scultura Antica Giovanni Barracco, 
6. Museo Napoleonico, 
7. Museo Pietro Canonica a Villa Borghese, 
8. Villa di Massenzio.

5) Can I check how many times my Roma Pass 72 Hours or Roma Pass 48 Hours has been used?

Yes. The Card works on a RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) system that can be read at the Roma Pass network museums’ ticket office or at the Tourist Infopoints.

Simply ask a ticket window operator to check the state of your card, to find out how many entries you have already used and how many sites you have visited.

Can I extend the duration of the Roma Pass 72 Hours and/or Roma Pass 48 Hours?

No, that is not possible.
Roma Pass 72 Hours expires after 72 hours from the moment of activation.
Roma Pass 48 Hours expires after 48 hours from the moment of activation.

What is a combined entry arrangement? Which museums and/or archaeological sites have combined entry arrangements?

A combined entrance is the possibility to visit a group of museums (circuit) using a single entry of your Roma Pass.

What should I do if the card doesn’t work?

Any malfunction of the card can be verified at the Tourist Info points. 
Only there you can replace the malfunctioning card. 
The card is not refundable or replaced for any reason once activated.
Cancel up to 24 hours in advance for a full refund.
Please note that the card is not replaced in case of damage due to negligence.

Museum opening time, free entrances and reductions:

Are the museums and/or archaeological sites closed on certain days of the week or are services suspended with the Roma pass?

Several museums and archaeological sites of the Roma Pass network are CLOSED ON MONDAYS. 

Almost all the museums are usually closed on December 25th, January 1st and May 1st.

Is public transportation (bus and subway) free for children?

Children under 10 travel free on public transport services in the territory of Roma Capitale when accompanied by a fare-paying adult.

Online purchase and collection of Rome City Pass:

Where and when can I pick up my cards purchase online?

Meeting point may vary depending on the option booked.

Roma Pass: 48-Hour City Card:
1. Pick up your card at Tourist Information Points (Punti Informativi Turistici, PIT) of the City of Rome: 
2. PIT Fori Imperiali, Visitor Center Via dei Fori Imperiali. 10:30 AM – 8:00 PM. 
3. PIT Minghetti, Via Marco Minghetti (corner to Via del Corso). 9:30 AM – 7:00 PM. 
4. PIT Castel Sant’Angelo. 09:30 AM – 7:00 PM. 
5. Ciampino, G. B. Pastine Airport – External area International Arrivals

Is there a limit date to use an online purchased card after its collection?

Once purchased and collected, you can start using the card any time, within the date of a possible change in the selling price or in the services included on the cards.

Can I change date and/or collection point and/or holders’ name indicated during online purchase?

Yes, you can change date and/or collection point of your cards purchased online. 

No communication is necessary, simply go to any Tourist Infopoint. 

You don’t need a new confirmation code.

Cards must be collected within 6 months from the date indicated during the online purchase.

Can I receive the Roma Pass 72 Hours and/or Roma Pass 48 Hours purchased online by mail or express courier?

No, there is no card delivery. The Cards purchased online must be picked up at the Tourist Infopoint selected at the time of purchasing or at another Tourist Infopoint

Are the Tourist Info points always open for the pick-up of Roma Pass 72 Hours and/or Roma Pass 48 Hours purchased online?

Online purchased cards must be collected during the Tourist Infopoint opening times. Please, check the office hours and addresses here.

Reservations:

For which museums it is necessary to make a reservation? How can I book?

Booking is required in many museums. Some museums require reservations for Saturdays, Sundays and holidays only, by the day before.

Highly recommended to check the access/booking rules and the opening hours of every museum.

For the Colosseum, Foro Romano and Palatino, the Borghese Gallery, Mausoleo di Augusto and Palazzo Valentini (Domus Romane), the ticket reservation is required, even on weekdays.

Highly recommended to book at least 10 days in advance.

Do children and/or other categories of visitors who enter free of charge have to make reservations for the museums that require booking?

Yes. Reservations for the Colosseum, and the Borghese Gallery are required for all visitors, as well as for visitors entitled to free admission.

For the Colosseum, visitors with free admission who enter with Roma Pass holders already booked an admission time must book online on the website.

Reimbursements for Rome City Pass:

If I have an unused Roma Pass 72 Hours or Roma Pass 48 Hours, can I give it to another person?

Yes, you can give the purchased and unused card to another person.

In any case, the card has to be used within the date of a possible change in the selling price or in the services included on the card, or anyway within 6 months from the purchase date.

 In the case of online purchase, within 6 months from the withdrawal date selected.

What should I do when my card is damaged, lost or stolen?

Unfortunately, there is nothing to do.

The system does not allow us to suspend or block the card, and for this reason we can’t offer any refunds, credits, or replacements.
